“This was my first time trying African food and I was stunned! The food was so flavorful and delicious the plantains were on point and the pounded yam was divine! Would definitely eat here again! Only thing was I was told three meats and I only got two meats and the meats were very small as you can see in the photo… other than that good food.”
— Nathan Yakuza“The vegetables soup was the first thing I tried from this place. It got my taste buds going crazayyy. Love it and I ordered multiple times later on. Then I orders the egussi soup at least twice, it was soooo delicious. Love it. Then I order the obono soup and eba ( pounded cassava). Took me by surprise, I did expect the obono soup to be slimy and the eba to be sour. I give the restaurant a call, the owner was so niiice. She said it was suppose to be slimy and cassava is sour because it was my first time. As somebody who hate any food with okra consistency, I was a little mad at first. But when the owner explain to me so nicely, I felt eager to try it. And I Lovee Ittt. I'm going my mother about this, somebody got me an okra consistency meal. Because God knows I absolutely hate Slimy food. But this dish got me loving it. Then I order the bitter leaf soup. I was youtube video on how to make it. The lady said it was not supposed to be bitter. But it was, absolutely bitter. At first not so much but then it got realllly bitter. I only ate the smoke meat and the fufu. I also prior to order the bitter leaf soup tried the ayamase soup. My siblings love it and I love it it was sooo delicious. Still love this place and I definitely look forward to exploring their menu more.”
— Mildred Desir“First time having African cuisine and it was a great experience! I had Ogbono soup, Egusu soup, fufu, jollof rice, chicken, goat, beef and a few things I forgot lol. I was with my African friend who showed me the ropes. I really loved the jollof rice with the meats, so much flavor. The ogbono soup was great as well with fufu. The staff is very nice. The hours posted online need to be updated. Hours are Monday-Saturday 11am to 5:30pm. The inside is small so not much seating and no AC, just fans. Overall great experience for my first time.”
— Delvin“This was my first time trying African food.....so I will give my honest opinion! 1. Portion size does not match price...I paid $15 for soup and I barely had any juice to dip the fufu in! I feel 3 pieces of meat isn’t worth the price! 2. I was expecting it to be more flavorful not saying that it was bad I feel we could use more seasoning. 3. Fufu tasted like Instant mashed potatoes rolled up in a ball! So I gave this place 3 stars due to the lack of favor and portions!!”
— Kimberly CookMany customers recommend starting with jollof rice and egusi soup, which offer great introductory flavors to West African cuisine.
The slimy texture is traditional and authentic - ogbono seeds naturally create this consistency that's perfect for eating with fufu.
Portions are moderate and authentic to traditional serving sizes, though some customers prefer larger amounts for the price point.
The restaurant uses fans for cooling rather than AC, creating a more authentic and casual dining atmosphere.
Open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 5:30pm. Closed Sundays.
